Privacy notice
mytakehomepay.app is a free take-home pay calculator. This page explains what data we collect, why, and how you can opt out. We aim for the smallest plausible data footprint.

What runs entirely on your device
The calculator itself runs entirely in your browser. Salary figures you type, the country you pick, and any options you toggle are processed locally by JavaScript embedded in the page. None of those inputs are sent to our servers or to any third party.
We store small preferences in your browser's localStorage so the site remembers your country choice, your light/dark theme preference, and your cookie-consent decision across visits. Clearing your browser's site data removes these instantly.
Third-party services we load (only after your consent)
We use Google Consent Mode v2 to gate every analytics and advertising cookie behind your explicit consent. Before you click Accept on the consent banner, no analytics or advertising scripts fire and no cookies are set by these services. After you click Accept:
- Google Analytics 4 (property `G-214FGWBWJY`) records aggregate page views, scroll depth, and session duration. IP addresses are anonymised. We use this only to understand which calculator pages are useful and where the site needs work. See Google's Analytics privacy notice.
- Google AdSense (publisher `pub-3086186769896935`) serves contextual advertising and may set personalisation cookies if you have also consented to ad personalisation. You can switch personalisation off without leaving the site: the same consent banner has a Manage options link. See Google's advertising privacy notice.
If you click Do not consent, both services stay disabled for your session. You can change your mind later from the same banner (clear your cookies to re-trigger it, or use your browser's developer-tools to remove `localStorage:mtphp-cmp-consent`).
What we never collect
- Account data — there is no signup, no login, no password storage.
- Salary figures — what you type into the calculator never leaves your browser.
- Email addresses — we do not run a newsletter, transactional email, or contact form (use the operator email above to reach us).
- Fingerprinting — no canvas fingerprinting, no font fingerprinting, no cross-site identifiers.
Your rights under GDPR / UK GDPR
If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Because we hold no account data and the calculator runs locally, an access or erasure request usually means:
- Analytics data — request a deletion via Google Analytics' Data Deletion tool, or contact us at info@mytakehomepay.app and we will request deletion on your behalf within the next monthly batch.
- Browser-stored preferences — clear the site's cookies and localStorage in your browser settings to delete everything we keep on your device.
Children
The calculator is intended for adults assessing employment income. We do not knowingly target or collect data from children under 16. If you believe a minor has interacted with the site, contact us at info@mytakehomepay.app and we will assist with data removal.
Changes to this notice
If we change what we collect or which third parties we load, this page is updated and the effective date above is revised. Material changes also trigger a re-presentation of the cookie consent banner so you can renew or revoke your decision.
